Tasked with creating bespoke wall and ceiling finishes, we used our expertise in natural lime-based materials to deliver a timeless and sustainable solution.
The Design Concept
Ennismore’s design brief emphasised creating spaces that exuded understated elegance and character, blending modern sophistication with artisanal craftsmanship. They envisioned finishes that not only complemented the hotel’s aesthetic but also reflected its commitment to sustainability and authenticity.
Our journey began with a collaborative process, translating Ennismore’s vision into physical samples. We worked closely with their design team to ensure every detail—from texture to tone—aligned seamlessly with their overarching concept.
The Process
1. Sample Creation
The first step was to produce a series of bespoke samples tailored to Ennismore’s specifications. Drawing on our experience with natural lime-based materials, we experimented with textures and colour variations to ensure the finishes met both aesthetic and functional requirements.
2. Material Selection
Natural lime-based Venetian plasters were chosen for their durability, breathability, and eco-friendly properties. These materials allowed us to achieve stunning textures while maintaining the environmental ethos central to The Hoxton’s brand.
3. Application
The finishes were applied to both walls and ceilings across key areas of the hotel. Each surface was meticulously crafted to showcase the unique characteristics of lime-based materials, such as their subtle variation in tone and texture, which added depth and personality to the spaces.
