Deansgate Square, a landmark development in Manchester, is renowned for its contemporary architecture and luxury residences. Viero UK contributed to this exceptional space by applying high-end Venetian plaster finishes, to achieve seamless, elegant surfaces ideal for high-traffic areas. Working in collaboration with Renaker, the project’s main contractor, Viero UK enhanced the building’s corporate lobby with a sophisticated, durable aesthetic that aligns with the design integrity of Manchester’s vibrant city centre.
Design Brief
The goal of this project was to create a warm, organic plaster finish that complements the high-quality cabinetry, fixtures, and fittings in the entrance lobby. The finish needed to align with the design brief—subtle yet elegant—without overpowering the space. Additionally, it had to be durable enough to handle the demands of a busy commercial environment.
Product Specification
This Venetian plaster is a traditional Italian lime-based Marmorino, known for its natural elegance and durability. Each layer is carefully compressed and polished by hand using specialised steel trowels. This meticulous burnishing process reveals the unique depth and variations in colour within the plaster, resulting in a refined, smooth finish. The technique not only enhances the plaster’s aesthetic appeal but also ensures a rich, organic texture that complements the space’s design elements, adding warmth and sophistication to high-quality interiors.
